First Step: Always the Hardest

A ray of sunshine

They said I was

For smiles drop like rain

Whenever I pass

Thought there’s no end

But lo! behold

That was when

I was not this old

Life turned around

And so did the once me,

Smiles turned upside down

How could this be?

Cruel, I thought of life

Trying to make sense

Trying not to lose a fight

And wishing for all that whens

Yet foolish I was

For being again a child

To not see the real task

To just instead be unreasonably wild

For in this world,

Change is inevitable

Problems making our minds swirled,

Things making us miserable.

But then how can we know

The real, true us

If we should not further go

And just always fuss?

We must accept things

Even though it’s hard

Embrace whatever life brings

Just be on your guard

Life is hard, I know

t’was true then,

And true ’til now

But heads up for that sweetest when.

Just be strong and instead look,

That God’s just making an update

On your life’s everyday book

You just have to have that FAITH.

This is just the first step

Hard, you might or might not say

But just keep this on mind

And you’ll be okay. 🙂
